How are the education systems different and similar in China and the West? Is there a Western equivalent of the Gaokao? Do both systems assign equal importance to test scores? What about the format in classrooms? Teaching styles? Social interaction? Numbers of students? Hours of homework? And how does this all relate to actual, useable, meaningful benefits to graduates afterwards? And what about the differences between primary, secondary, and university-level education?
One thing is for sure, no education system in any country is perfect. In fact, one can certainly argue that education systems around the world are heavily flawed. In this club, we'll try to better understand each other by getting an idea of the similarities and differences in how we're all educated. Let's have an intelligent, open-minded, and judgment-free discussion!
